A MAN was due to appear at court for allegedly crashing his van into the side of the road.
It is claimed that at 2.15am on Friday, June 22 at Sandfield Road, Prestwick a 43-year-old man was driving the Ford Transit without a licence or insurance.
The Ayr Advertiser Series understands that police were contacted regarding a road traffic collision, who traced the driver.
Police carried out a roadside breath test which was negative but officers believed the man was under the influence of drugs.
The man was taken to Ayr Police Station where he refused to provide a blood sample. He was due to appear at Ayr Sheriff Court on Monday, June 25.
As we went to press there were no updates on the situation.
