A MAN who boasted on social media about being in possession of two barrelled guns has been fined £200.

James Gordon, of Hill Park Mossblown, posted menacing videos of himself with the firearms and challenging the lieges to engage with him in violence.

The 52-year-old appeared before Sheriff Desmond Leslie at Ayr Sheriff Court last week.

Depute Fiscal Cath Whyte said: “Police were contacted after Mr Gordon posted online a video of himself with two barrelled guns. In the video he said any c*** want a go? F***ing come and get it.”

F*** your Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.

“He posted two pictures on Facebook of the guns. Police attended and were allowed access to his property. He told them, I am being truthful.”

Speaking on his behalf, defence solicitor, John Gallagher said: “So concerned were the police that it took them four days to search the property. This could have been some sort of joke on Mr Gordon’s part but someone may have taken offence and were concerned enough to contact the police.”

Addressing the dock, Sheriff Leslie said: “One can only understand why police attended, although I am concerned it took them four days. Someone was not taking you seriously perhaps.”

Gordon will pay £10 per week of his fine.
