LOCAL residents participated in an event stretching from South Beach Esplanade, Troon up to Dundonald Castle by walking the historic Smugglers Trail.
On Sunday, June 10, they were met by a variety of characters along the way from smugglers to customs and excise men with a final re-enactment at the castle with gunfire and much hilarity.
Refreshments were provide at different locations to the supplies at Fullarton Woods - kindly donated by Morrisons in Troon.
This was a free community event hosted jointly by Friends of Fullarton, Friends of Dundonald Castle, South Ayrshire Pathways Initiative, Troon Allotment Society, 28th Ayrshire Scout Group, Loans Community Council and last but by no means least The Edinburgh Pirates who performed on the day.
Special thanks to photographers Raymond Baxter and Colin McMillan who captured the days events.
