PORTLAND Church’s Summer concert raised a four-figure sum for Dementia Friendly Troon & Villages.
Choir members, who have all attended dementia awareness training collected £1500 for the group.
Donald MacAskill, chairman of Dementia Friendly Troon & Villages, said: “We are delighted to accept such a fantastic sum that will make a huge difference to our ability to deliver meaningful and therapeutic activities in Troon and the Villages for the people living with dementia and their carers.
“What this also means is that if somebody living with dementia wants to continue singing, then we can signpost them to a truly dementia-friendly choir that will welcome them and allow them to continue doing what they love.”
