AN event showcasing an array of historical and modern-day military practices was held at Culzean Castle.

On Saturday, August 25, military personnel, equipment and operations was seen by thousands of visitors enjoying climbing inside the cockpit of a plane, watching soldiers from a by-gone era march into battle and discovering what the Vikings ate in camp.

Whether it was marvelling at the weapons or gasping at the gas attack, cooking for the company or surviving in the trenches, learning about the story behind the forces from flintlock pistols to the present day, there really was so much fun for all the family.

Visitors were also able to see the Scottish Military Vehicles, battling it out in Nerf Wars and enjoy the inflatable army obstacle course - there was lots of fun had by all.
