CHEERING news has been given to parents of young children in Troon.
The long-established playpark at the top of Titchfield Road had fallen into a state of disrepair.
But the dilapidated equipment is now to be dismantled with the aim of reopening before next summer. The news was revealed at a meeting of Troon Community Council last Tuesday.
Following a review carried out by an independent RPII play inspector, where he identified the toddlers’ playhouse unit as having a range of issues, it was proposed by the council to remove it and replace it with a more robust, steel multi-unit.
The expectation is to have the work completed before the end of March 2019.
Troon Councillor Philip Saxton said: “As the portfolio holder for housing and customer services, I am delighted the play park at Titchfield Road will benefit from a new playhouse for younger kids.
“The old one will be dismantled and replaced by March 2019, the funds for this will come from the south Ayrshire councils housing revenue account allocated for playparks."
