KIND-HEARTED members of a golf club in Troon held a cheque presentation after incredibly raising over £3,800 for a charity.

Members of Troon Welbeck Golf Club raised £3,873 for the Scottish multiple sclerosis charity Revive MS.

It is the only charity in the west of Scotland providing nationwide support for people affected by Multiple Sclerosis.

The club presented the cheque to Rochelle McGuiness, the dedicated community and events fundraiser for the charity, at the clubhouse on December 8 before the annual prizegiving for the club's ladies' section.

Louise Thrippleton, lady captain of Troon Welbeck Golf Club, told the Advertiser: "It was a poignant moment that reflected the collective efforts and generosity of the Troon Welbeck community.

"Rochelle McGuinness expressed her gratitude for the substantial contribution, highlighting the positive impact it would have on the charity's mission to improve the lives of those affected by Multiple Sclerosis.

"As the cheque was handed over, the sense of accomplishment and unity within Troon Welbeck Golf Club shone brightly."

The event showcased the strong links between the local businesses and golf clubs who kindly donated raffle prizes and the Troon Welbeck Golf Club members who came together to make a difference in the lives of individuals and families affected by this neurological condition.

The club are now preparing for the start of the new season and are always willing to welcome new members.
