A new restaurant that will take over the former Vito premises in Ayr town centre has moved one step closer.
The popular Italian restaurant is permanently closed, but the Burns Statue Square site is to be taken over by Indrya.
ATM Bar and Restaurants Ltd applied for planning permission from South Ayrshire Council back in February to make alterations to the façade of the building.
Planning documents stated: "The proposals include the installation of a new shopfront and signage as well as the replacement of the existing single-glazed aluminium shopfront glazing with double-glazed aluminium units.
"The proposals also include the redecoration of the existing painted masonry facade to provide a uniform frontage that will bring the building in line with our client's brand identity which is present at all of their locations across the UK."
Based on their website, Indrya are also soon to open restaurants in Manchester and Essex. The new eatery is set to include both a sit-in and takeaway element.
The signage plans were given the green light by council planners, with work required to start within the next three years.
