POLICE are hunting a group of youths after a man was left injured in Troon.
The 28-year-old man was seriously assaulted in the town on Saturday May 21.
Cops were called at around 2am on Saturday morning to aid the young man after he approached a group of young people who were causing a disturbance in Brown Avenue.
The group of youths responsible were all wearing dark-coloured clothing.
They were last seen running towards a lane that leads to Gillies Street.
The 28-year-old man was taken to Ayr Hospital for treatment for a facial injury.
Police are asking anyone with any further information to come forward and help them catch those responsible.
Detective Constable David Nisbet of Ayr Police Office is appealing for information.
He said:βAt this time our enquiries are continuing into this incident and to identify those involved.
"I would urge anyone who witnessed the disturbance, or who has any information that may assist police enquiries to contact Ayr Police Office through the non-emergency number 101.
"Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.β
