FIGHTING fit youngsters dusted down their running shoes and moved into gear for a stamina-sapping challenge in Maybole.
South Ayrshire's Competitive School Sports Officer Jill Tomlinson organised a recent Adventure Duathlon, giving secondary pupils across South Ayrshire the chance to try a gruelling run and cycle run through Culzean Country Park.
The event saw more than 80 pupils taking part without almost as many girls as boys taking up the challenge which was great to see as part of the Active Girls Day opportunities.
It was supported by the South Ayrshire Active Schools team in partnership with Ayrodynamic Triathlon Club.
Well done to the top three in each category as below:
BOYS
1 Jamie Phillips (Marr College) 22.0 mins
2 Ian Stevenson (Kyle Academy ) 24.1 mins
3 Cori Howard (Wellington) 24.3 mins.
GIRLS
1 Abbie Middleton (Belmont Academy) 22.2 mins
2 Islay Hubbard (Belmont Academy) 25.1 mins
3 Amber Stevenson (Belmont Academy) 25.4 mins.
