EUROPEAN FootGolf champion Gavin Craig is challenging people to take part in a fundraiser to support a deserving cause.

He is teaming up with Sainsbury's Prestwick community colleague Claire Smith to raise money for the superstore's local charity partner Ayrshire Cancer Support. This is to raise awareness of and help fund the charity's work.

Prestwick man Gavin was in the UK team who won the inaugural FootGolf European Team Championships, which were held at the Chateau d’Augerville just outside Paris on September 16 and 17.

The event is scheduled for Sunday, February 25, 2018 at Roodlea Family Golf Centre, near Coylton.

Participants will meet at 1pm meet in the club house. The event will finish at 4pm approximately with the cost £20, although participants are asked to bring their own football or £2 to hire.

The event features the "Green It" Challenge on hole 15 (par 3, 45 yards) which has a £5 entry fee, although this is optional. If from the tee-off your ball finishes on the 6 metre green you triple their money. You must have the five pounds present at the 15th hole to be able to take part. Any winnings will be paid out at the time

There will be prizes for first, second and third place, as well as nearest the pin and the longest drive competitions.

Fotball boots are not permitted and if found wearing them no prizes can be won. Astroturfs are the best footwear and if not them just trainers. Any type of clothing suitable.
