A SHOP assistant who stolen over £1,400-worth of jewellery from an Ayr High Street store wept last week as a Sheriff let her off with a fine.

Lisa McNeillie, 33, of Phillip Square, appeared on deferred sentence at Ayr Sheriff Court last week.

She had earlier admitted stealing a quantity of jewellery from John Stewart Jeweller on June 12.
