A SWASTIKA-tattooed thug who helped torture a man in his own home has been handed a life sentence.

James Faulds terrorised Andrew Allan at his flat in Ayr last October during a row over a £60 debt.

The 21-year-old and accomplice Steven McIlroy blindfolded their petrified victim and knifed him before trying to drown him in a bath.

Faulds was jailed for a minimum of three years and eight months at the High Court in Glasgow last week where he was also given an Order for Lifelong Restriction after earlier admitting to his role in the attack.

Lord Bracadale said it was clear "violence was important" to Faulds, who has a lengthy criminal past.
