A RISE in golf fees for pensioners has outraged a Troon councillor as South Ayrshire Council seek to increase attendance at their golf courses.

Troon Councillor Philip Saxton this week condemned the substantial entry age increase to the council's leisure card scheme from 60 to 65.

His comments came in the same week that SAC's leadership panel is due to meet to discuss the draft open space strategy, a document that acknowledges the decline in golf course attendance over the past few years.
