A TROON Church was turned into a construction site yesterday to fix storm damage from January.

Troon St Meddan's Parish Church was one of several casualties, along with Portland Parish Church, who suffered storm damage when the region was battered by high winds in January, that saw an 84mph gust being recorded at Prestwick Airport on Tuesday, January 3.

In St Meddan's a section of plaster from the chancel ceiling came down and ever since the Minister has not been able to use the church's pulpit for safety reasons as it lies underneath the damaged area of ceiling.
