TRAIN services from Ayr are set to improve this December if Scotrail's timetable is approved.

Following extensive engineering works undertaken around Paisley, which saw commuters suffer through many Sundays of rail replacement bus travel, Scotrail are planning through their December timetable to take advantage of those improvements.

If approved all South Ayrshire stations, Barassie, Troon, Prestwick Airport, Prestwick Town, Newton on Ayr and Ayr, will see an additional service per hour during the offpeak and faster journey times during peak periods.
