Ayrshire Fiddlers Star in Brussels Burns Bash

FIVE young performers from the Ayrshire Fiddle Orchestra received a standing ovation after playing at a special Burns Supper in the European Parliament in aid of the Haiti victims.

At the event last Wednesday, January 27, 87 MEP's and guests gathered in Brussels to help survivors of the devastating earthquake.

The 10th annual European Burns Supper, organised by Struan Stevenson MEP, of Ballantrae, and hosted by all six of the Scottish MEPs, raised £6,540 for the Mercy Corps' Appeal.

The dinner, sponsored by Royal Mail, was attended by Scots from across Europe.

Jamie McGrigor MSP toasted the Immortal Memory of the Bard.
