HOPES are high that secondary pupils in Troon will benefit from a state-of-the-art complex.

The first in a series of meetings has been held to discuss plans of moving Marr College to a new site.

Marr Parent Council met in the current school to discuss the problem last week.

Chair Ann Cowan said: "I feel the more people talk about this issue with a view to resolving the matter the sooner we will reach a satisfactory conclusion. That would be not just a school suitable for 21st Century teaching to cater for all pupils within the Troon area, but the best possible school for our children and the future children of Troon."
