ELDERLY women in Ayr and Troon are being targeted by a "clever" thief in a telephone box con.
Victims have been targeted in both towns with the con-artist asking for £1 change for the phone before distracting the victim whilst removing notes from their purse or handbag.
The latest person to be duped by the man was an 81-year-old lady in Ayr's Boswell Park with the thief stealing £200.
