Ann wins award for stalking campaign

AN AYR woman who was stalked for two years started a campaign to make stalking an offence and her hard work has paid off.
Ann Moulds started Action Scotland Against Stalking which was named campaign of the year last week.
Ms Moulds was tormented by a stalker, who was later identified to be a close friend of hers, for several years, becoming a prisoner in her own home.
When the case eventually went to court her stalker was convicted of breach of the peace, the only legal way to punish stalking in Scotland, and was sentenced to three years probation, 260 hours community service and three years on the sex offenders' register.
Upon this result Ms Moulds founded Action Scotland Against Stalking and began to pettition the Scottish Governemnt to change the law and introduce stalking as a criminal offence.
