BUDDING entrepreneurs from Belmont Academy have picked up prestigious awards after making it through to the finals of a major competition.

At the Young Enterprise Scotland (YES) Ayrshire Area Awards 2010 judges awarded the youngsters from Ayr's Belmont the Best Trade Stand for their Alba Gu Brath.

The Ayr pupils - including Neil Wallace, Olof Robertson, Andrew Jarvie, Nicholas Hannon, Jamie O'Neil, Calum Kelty, Jamie o'Hara, Hannah Garrett, David Boyle, Katy Vallance, Andrew Kerr, Rachel Queen, Carly Nicol, Melissa Rollo - gave a presentation to a panel of judges from the business world on their experiences and success.

They were given help in their work by link teacher Robert McCallum and business adviser Stephen McNab from GE Caledonian.
