PLANNING chiefs will meet this week to decide whether to give the go ahead for a new residential development near Laurel Bank Road, Maybole.

A planning application has been submitted by Hope Homes Ltd to build 55 new homes in Maybole on vacant land between Elms Way, Laurel Bank and an industrial estate.

A combination of detached and semi-detached houses and flats, the development plans also include a play area, landscaping and footpaths.

The application, submitted on April 3, 2009, will go before South Ayrshire Council’s Regulatory Panel on Thursday, August 19 at 10am because it represents a major development and has received five or more competent written objections.
