A true hero

A Prestwick great-grandfather who endured years as a prisoner of war and took part in some daring escapes is preparing to put his amazing life story in writing.

When Alex Anderson took off in his Spitfire from RAF Leuchars in 1943 on a mission to enemy-occupied Norway, the young flying officer never imagined it would take him 67 years to make it back to the Fife base.
