THE year that was - a look back at what made the headlines from July to September 2011.

July - CLEAN up teams were out in force last week clearing up the mess left by travellers in Mossblown.

August - TWO family butchers in Ayr have hit out after a laboratory blunder wrongly identified them as the source of an E.coli outbreak.

September - PRESTWICK Police this week showed off the substantial amount of alcohol that they have confiscated over the summer months.
