Mystery Christmas death of 'kidnapped' grandfather

VILLAGERS have been left baffled by the death of a grandfather whose half-naked body was found at the side of the road on Christmas Eve morning.

As was his habit 55-year-old Robert "Wee Rab" Cumming had been drinking in the Royal Hotel, Crosshill and left at 12.45am to make his journey on foot to this home in the village of Kirkmichael, three miles away.
