A SOUTH Ayrshire union official carried out a racist attack on a teenage takeaway delivery driver.

Ian McCurdie stood in the middle of the road forcing Haris Ali to stop his car.

When the 19-year-old rolled down his window shaven-headed McCurdie, 42, grabbed him by the hood of his jacket and punched him on the face.

Ali told Ayr Sheriff Court that McCurdie then called him "a wee black f...".

The incident took place at 7.30pm on September 12 in Coalpots Road, Girvan when Ali was making a delivery from the kebab shop where he worked to an address near his attacker's home in Urnfield.
