The grand opening of Ayr's £81 million university complex

AFTER years of wrangling with planning and finance departments the new £81 million Ayr University was officially opened on Friday.

The centre, which is still based in Craigie, now houses the University of the West of Scotland (UWS) and the Scottish Agricultural College (SAC) following a joint venture by the two education establishments.
