THE Junior Road Safety Officers (JRSO) at Muirhead Primary School in Troon were looking for fun and informative ways to further their campaign to get the road safety message across to all pupils in the school.

They found out about Allan’s Road Safety Magic Show and thought this would be a great way to get the message across. This is a show presented as “safety entertainment presentation” rather than a magic show and ensures that pupils remember and retain the important messages.

Key messages in the show include how to cross the road safely, wearing bright clothing, using pedestrian crossings, not capering and the dangers of using mobile devices when crossing roads.

The show includes the use of songs, magic, puppets, dancing and lots of interaction with the children.

The JRSO Kyle Williamson, Josh Travers, Liberty Donnan and Olivia Kerr wrote to the company and asked them about their show and if they could come to the school.

They received a lovely positive reply and thanks to the involvement of the Ayrshire Roads Alliance Road Safety Team, the show made a visit to the school, which was thoroughly enjoyed by pupils in Primaries One to Three. Struthers Primary infant pupils were also invited along as guests to the show.

The very important message of Road Safety was put over in a fun way, which children will remember.
