A COLOURFUL cavalcade of cars descended on Troon town centre for the eagerly-anticipated Glasgow Taxis outing.

Children lined the streets to catch a glimpse of the cabbies, most of whom had their vehicles decorated, with the inflatable fish from the movies Finding Dory and Finding Nemo and Pokemon figures especially eye-catching. People were also dressed up with Postman Pat, a nun and cartoon character Danger Mouse among the outfits on display.

The youngsters enjoyed some fun on a bouncy castle and face-painting was done free of charge by Troon woman Jinty Maxwell Haddow.

Yarn bomb bikes (crocheted bikes) made by artist Val Hughes were on show at Troon Cross.

Here were present more pictures from what was a great summer day out for underprivileged youngsters and those with special needs.
