COMPETITORS at the recent Troon Welbeck Am Am event at Lochgreen, dug deep to be in with a chance of winning a luxury bottle of 40-year old Malt Whisky donated by club captain Pete Doyle in a very deserving cause.

The magnificent sum of £520 was raised through the raffle in support of The Butterfly Trust which offers help to people who suffer from Cystic Fibrosis, and can assist with transport & financial matters and be a friendly ear during difficult times.

The cheque was gratefully accepted on behalf of the Butterfly Trust by Arthur and Anne Glen, whose daughter Victoria suffered from Cystic Fibrosis, and sadly lost her brave fight against it in January.

Victoria, who received a double Lung Transplant six years ago, had devoted a huge amount of her time to organising events, raising over £50,000 for charities such as the Butterfly Trust and was an advocate for ‘Live Life Give Life’ to raise awareness of organ donation.
