Scramble as 'plane goes down' in sea

FEARS an aircraft had crashed into the sea saw the emergency services rush into action on Thursday.

Just after 10am on Thursday, August 9, Clyde Coastguard received a call that a member of the public in Irvine had seen a light aircraft or microlight crash into the sea just north of Irvine towards Stevenston.
