TITLE talk is being played down by Marr Rugby Club, despite Saturday's thumping 78-7 home win against Aberdeen Grammar.
Victory leaves them five points clear of Edinburgh Accies in National League Division One and on course for an historic place in the BT Premiership.
Marr, who narrowly missed out on promotion last season, now have a breather for a week before resuming with four very testing games to round off the league campaign.
However Marr RFC President Kevin Quinn will not get carried away although is delighted with his team's progress.
He said: "It was a good win although to their credit Aberdeen Grammar kept battling and at times in the game played well. But I was delighted with how we played and there is a great spirit and determination in the team.
"We have made phenomenal progress as a club in the last seven years and our aim has always been to play at the highest level possible."
However Quinn cautioned: "We are just five points clear of Edinburgh Accies and there's a lot of rugby to be played. We have some very tough trips to the borders coming up - we play Selkirk, where we lost last time and are then at Jed-Forest who have beaten us twice before finishing with Musselburgh at home and GHA away. The players and coaching staff deserve huge credit for all their hard work."
