BROTHERS Scott and Andi McElnea were in dazzling form as ruthless Ayr racked up a 10-wicket win on Saturday.

The home side produced a clinical performance against last year's champions Clydesdale a week after edging out derby rivals Prestwick.

The visitors won the toss and chose to bat first but were soon in trouble as Scott McElnea struck early removing the dangerous Awais with only nine on the board.

Along with his brother and captain Andi, the McElnea’s continued to claim wickets at regular intervals -bowling them all out for 115.

Andi finished with figures of 4-20 and Scott 4-26.

In reply Ayr were never troubled and finished as 118-0 as openers Neil Smith (35 not out ) and Kiwi professional Michael Papps (75 not out) continued their good early season form to record an emphatic 10-wicket victory with more than 20 overs to spare.

In Glasgow the Cambusdoon XI’s match against Titwood was reduced to 36 overs due to water on the square.

Batting first, they were restricted to 110, Ross Mitchell top-scoring with 28no.

Sadly their total proved to be a little short as the home team ran out comfortable winner, reaching their target for the loss of only one wicket.

Cambusdoon played host to the Intercontinental Cup match against Namibia during the week but due to the inclement weather only two of the four days play were possible as the match ended in a draw. The highlight for Scotland was a maiden First Class century for George Munsey.

This week sees Ayr away to East Kilbride on League duty on Saturday, while the Cambusdoon XI are at home to Partick.
