Councillor Brian McGinley, South Ayrshire Council's Portfolio Holder for Economic Development, Tourism and Leisure, said: “South Ayrshire has a wealth of golf courses to choose from with the Council’s eight courses and first-class facilities among the best in the country.

“Ayr Golf Week remains as popular as ever. Competitors enjoyed the usual cocktail of Ayrshire weather with sunshine, cloud cover, and rain making for changeable conditions which kept play interesting. I’d like to thank everyone working behind the scenes to organise the event and also for every single competitor who signed up to show their continued support for this popular fixture.”

Golf South Ayrshire operates eight courses, with Belleisle, Troon, Girvan, Dalmilling, and Maybole all playing a part in providing a wide-range of courses for players of all abilities. Investment of £3.5million has seen the creation of a new clubhouse at Belleisle and major refurbishments at Troon and Girvan clubhouses.
