FORM team Ayr made it three wins in a row on Saturday when they played East Kilbride at Torrance House.

Put in to bat they struggled on a difficult batting wicket and after losing a couple of early wickets, Andi McElnea and Shujja Khan slowly re-built the innings and after their departure Matt Crawshaw (37) and Michael Miller (37) helped them to what was a respectable total of 178-8.

When East Kilbride came to bat the Ayr opening bowlers Khan and Scott McElnea made early inroads leaving the hosts on 25-3 before skipper Andi McElnea came on to claim 5-21 as they were bowled out for 107.

The well-earned victory leaves Ayr third in the Western Premier Division table.

Meanwhile the Cambusdoon XI were also in winning form as they beat second placed Partick in a high-scoring match in the Reserve League. The visitors were put in to bat and were bowled out for 240 in the 48th over, Callum Henderson claiming 4-64 and Jacob Whittle 3-29.

The Cambusdoon reply was based around 91 from David Johnstone and 67 from Callum Henderson as they reached their target for the loss of five wickets in the 48th over.

On Tuesday night the Development XI travelled to Glasgow to face Albert Park in the Western Cup. The home team batted first and were bowled out for 79. Brothers Matthew and Johnny Baines did most of the damage, taking 3-7 and 2-8 respectively. In reply the Cambusdoon men raced to victory reaching their target in only 10 overs, Matthew McClymont top-scoring with 26 not out.
