HUGH CAMERON: Ayr director disappointed at the refs' strike
By Stewart McConnell
ANGRY Ayr United commercial director Hugh Cameron this week revealed that the postponement of the Honest Men's home Barr's Irn-Bru Second Division league clash with East Fife could cost them up to £9000 and hit out at striking referees for making the SFL clubs suffer through their industrial action.
Hugh, pictured, said it was a big "disappointment" that the plug had to be pulled on the game FORTY EIGHT hours from kick-off as it was called off on Thursday afternoon because there was no referee available to officiate, especially since staff were working intensively to try and make sure it had a chance of going ahead, despite the Arctic conditions.
It has now been rescheduled for next Wednesday, December 8.
