DESPERATE Ayr United boss Brian Reid is appealing to members of the community for training facilities after deciding to stop using the artificial pitch at Belmont Academy on safety grounds.
And he praised members of the Panda Pals, whose latest fundraising efforts have helped extend on-loan Partick Thistle teenager midfielder Stuart Bannigan's loan spell for another month.
Brian had to call off Monday night's training session as he was snowed in and with a host of roads closed and driving conditions dangerous he didn't want to endanger the safety of the players.
He said: "We have decided to stop using the artificial pitch at Belmont as I would say it is dangerous. Dean Keenan did in his cruciate ligament there and some of the rubber pellets have come out which make the pitch even harder. Now we have no regular facilities for a Monday although on a Wednesday we have been using Petershill."
