MAYBOLE got off to the perfect start in the Ayrshire League with a comfortable victory at Ardeer Stadium.
Thistle had the wind advantage in the first half,14 but neither side made any clear-cut chances and the interval arrived with the scoreline blank.
Maybole took the lead in 50 minutes a long throw-in from Fraser McMillan found Chris Allan at the back post and he controlled the ball before
netting. Fifteen minutes later the score was doubled when a fine run down the wing by Ross Clark ended with him cutting the ball back to Allan who netted his second
of the match.
Maybole were reduced to 10 men a minute later when Calum McDade was given a second yellow card.
Ardeer with a man advantage had more of the play after this but the Maybole defence held firm to clinch all three points.
