CRAIGMARK BURNTONIANS 2
ARDEER THISTLE 0
FORM team 'Mark guaranteed their first top six finish in eight years with a comfortable win against basement team Ardeer.
The first half ended goalless, although there were chances for both sides, with defences on top.
However Craigmark broke the deadlock 10 minutes after the break when Murray Johnstone threaded a pass through to Scott Dempster, who volleyed a shot into the roof of the net from 18 yards.
Home goalie Matt McCloymont and his Ardeer counterpart both made saves as play moved from end to end.
However with 10 minutes remaining victory was sealed when an Ally Boyle corner-kick was headed into his own net by an Ardeer defender.
Later Craigmark boss Ian Patterson said: "We played well and deserved the win but have some tough games ahead.
CRAIGMARK BURNTONIANS: McClymont; Lamont, Whitaker, Boyle, Dunlop, Dyer, R McKay, Johnstone, Dempster. Subs: Barr, Hall, Bryce, Reid, Murphy, Maxwell.
