GIRVAN 4

REVITALISED Girvan shrugged off their recent poor form by toppling Craigmark to reach the quarter-finals.

They began well and in 10 minutes Craig Reid found space in box to get his shot away but straight at keeper and easily saved

Ten minutes later Darren Mitchell fancied his chances with a 22-yard strike which glanced inches wide.

In 25 minutes, a sweet strike from the edge of the box by Paul found the bottom corner of the net to give Girvan a well-earned lead

It got even better five minutes later when a Mitchell cross from the right picked out Michael Reilly, who headed the ball home from 10 yards.

In 40 minutes, it was 3-0 when Reid cross found Mitchell and he headed the ball into the path Scott Dinwoodie who fired a lovely shot home from 18 yards to net.

Eight minutes later Reilly had a go at goal which came back out to Reid to fire past the keeper to score.

Craigmark nearly got a goal back in 58 minutes when a shot came back of post to be cleared by the Girvan defence.

Eight minutes later, Adam Caldwell cut in from the right and got a shot away but the keeper saved the effort.
