A FASCINATING insight into flight has been gained by pupils in P6 at Heathfield Primary School this past term.
They recently took part in a workshop with BAE Systems Stress Engineer Darren Campbell and this helped them learn about how knowledge gained in school can be applied to the world of work.
And the youngsters learned about the forces of flight and how engineers help to ensure plane safety.
They also had the opportunity to create their own aerofoils (model of a wing).
There was an opportunity to investigate different designs for creating lift.
The practical project helped pupils put into practice what they had been learning throughout the term and they were delighted to give them guidance on this fascinating subject.
