A TASKFORCE took on a spring ‘deep clean’ to create a cleaner, greener and more vibrant community.
The Outdoors Services team from East Ayrshire Council took to the local communities of Patna and Dalrymple to clean up litter and tackle environmental crime, including fly tipping.
The team were joined with Vibrant Communities, Waste Management Services, Community Payback, the Corporate Enforcement Unit and the Risk Management Centre’s mobile CCTV, who cleaned under bins and street furniture, removing cigarette ends and generally removing any grime and dirt from our streets.
Additional street sweepers were drafted in to help with the deep clean, mechanically sweeping the pavements.
Cllr Jim McMahon, Cabinet Member for Older People and Community Safety said: “There is no reason why our town centres can’t be pristine. Everyone has a responsibility to take action when it comes to littering.
“Working in partnership with our communities is key to the success of the Spring Clean Week. It is heartening to see people taking time out of their busy lives to keep their communities clean, and vibrant.”
