YOUNGSTERS were given a fascinating insight into the work of the Dogs Trust at Troon Library last week.

Gemma Trainer from the charity organised a workshop to help young people learn about the responsibility and commitment involved in looking after dogs.

There was also an arts and crafts and interactive session to illustrate the event.

Around 15 to 17 youngsters from across the community attended.

Today Dogs Trust (formerly the NCDL) is the UK’s largest dog welfare charity and cares for over 15,000 dogs each year through its network of 20 rehoming centres in the UK – and one in Dublin.

They have been involved in every piece of legislation affecting dogs over the past 126 years.
