A MAN has been charged with allegedly driving a Ford Focus without the owners permission or valid insurance.
It is claimed that at 8pm on Friday, June 22 the 43-year-old male failed to provide a specimen of urine for analysis, drove without the consent of the owner and without a policy of valid insurance.
Police were contacted by a concerned member of the public about a man who was slumped over the steering wheel on Westwood Avenue in Ayr. Officers attended and traced the accused who appeared to be under the influence.
The Ayr Advertiser Series understands that a roadside breath test was carried out which was negative. Due to him appearing under the influence the man was arrested under section 4 of the Road Traffic Act.
He was released on undertaking and is due to appear at a later date.
