LIFEBOAT Crew were called to a ‘dog in difficulty’ at South Beach in Troon.
On Tuesday, June 26 at around 10.40am, the crew were informed that a dog had swum out to sea and could no longer be seen or heard and concerned that the dog’s owners or other members of the public would enter the water, Troon and the Ayr Coastguard Team were tasked to the scene.
On arrival at South Beach, it was confirmed by the lifeboat crew that the dog had returned to its owner on the beach and no persons had entered the water.
Troon Lifeboat Coxswain Joe Millar said: “If your dog does go into the water, don’t go after them. Move to a safe place and call them - they’ll probably get out by themselves.”
