TROON Lifeboat crew were called to a yacht with an engine problem.
At around 4.20pm on Saturday, July 7, the Belfast Coastguard requested the launch of Troon’s all-weather lifeboat after reports of a vessel eight miles west of Troon with machinery issues.
The crew attended at the lifeboat station and launched the Trent class all-weather lifeboat ‘RNLB Jim Moffat’ to assist.
A spokesman for Troon Lifeboat, said: “The all-weather lifeboat was quickly on scene and after speaking to the crew on board the yacht it was established that they had made a temporary repair to their engine.
“The lifeboat and yacht were soon within Troon harbour without further incident. As the yacht entered the marina, the lifeboat was made ‘Ready for Service.”
