A fire at Struthers Primary forced the building to close today (Friday, September 14), but the school is expected to open on Monday.
Struthers Primary was closed to pupils following a small blaze which broke out at the school yesterday (Thursday, September 13).
Children and staff were evacuated to Muirhead Activity Centre and the fire service quickly contained the blaze.
There were no injuries although a member of staff was treated for smoke inhalation.
The school is expected to open on Monday.
South Ayrshire Council announced on their website: “Struthers Primary School remains closed today but will reopen as normal on Monday 17 September.
"Power at the school has been restored following the small fire yesterday.”
Parents and carers will be notified of any further updates via text or the school website.
