AN Ayr woman has been ordered to do 70 hours of unpaid work for possessing quantities of cocaine and heroin.

Wendy Green, 46, was found with the Class A substances at her home address in Church Court, Ayr on May 9.

Upon searching her home at 9.50am, police recovered two small packages. One was a brown substance and the other a white substance.

As one of the officers lifted the bag of brown substance, Green said: “That heroin is mine”.

Some 4.6 grams of cocaine was recovered which had an estimated street value of £130, as well as 0.8 grams of heroin thought to be worth £35.

Solicitor Mr Maxwell said: “There are no other outstanding matters.

“This is clearly someone who has some problems in her life which would benefit from a community payback order – which would give her some structure where she can focus on her difficulties.”

Sheriff Desmond Leslie ordered a Community Payback Order as an alternative to custody at Ayr Sheriff Court on Tuesday September 18. The 70 hours of unpaid work will have to be carried out within a period of six months under an instruction given by the Sheriff.
