WITH the clocks having gone back at weekend the dark days of winter can be particularly long and isolating for the older generation.
But a charity dedicated to defeating loneliness is inviting older people in need of company in Ayrshire to be their guest at local Sunday afternoon tea parties.
Contact the Elderly arranges the free monthly gatherings to help combat social isolation and is looking for potential new members to join them in Troon and Irvine. The charity is also keen to hear from volunteers in both towns who can support their vital work as drivers and hosts.
