THE hugely popular Secret Santa venture will be up and running in Troon once again this year, spreading festive cheer across the community, writes Stewart McConnell.
This is the fifth year the project has run and the Troon Times will be promoting it once again in 2018.
Secret Santa was the brainchild of Troon native Campbell Malone, a teacher now living in New Zealand.
He has been tirelessly supported from year two by T roon woman Caroline Goodall Cummings.
Around 1000 Troon children receive a gift from Santa each year delivered to their house. The event is free, all you have to do is nominate your children to Troon Secret Santa by messaging Caroline Goodall Cummings on the Secret Santa Facebook page.
Donation points for Troon locals to drop in selection boxes are now open, with all details on the FB page. Deliveries are starting on Friday, December 7.
The Troon Secret Santa team of Caroline, Diane Ferguson and Campbell Malone are very grateful to all the Troon families and businesses for donating Christmas gifts to allow them to continue, and the volunteer Santas who brave the cold and rain in December to deliver gifts to the children of Troon. They put in a power of work.
